Who we are
Manara Staff is published by Hope Tech Inc, based in Burlington, North Carolina. It is the iPhone and iPad app for teachers at schools that use Manara. Your school creates and manages your account and owns its school records.

Information the app collects
The app collects the following information, linked to your user account, only to provide its features:
- Contact information: your name and email address.
- User content: photos, class story text, messages and other school records, including registers, marks, notes and Hifdh records.
- Identifiers: your user ID.
We use this information to sign you in, show your classes, share class news and messages, and keep school records up to date. Read status shows when messages have been opened, and teachers can see recorded guardian opens for class stories.
Allergy notes are only displayed to the teacher and are never sent by the app.
Photos and your device
You choose which photos to share using the system photo picker. The app does not request access to your whole photo library, camera, microphone, contacts or location. Before upload, it removes embedded location and camera metadata from selected photos. This does not remove names, faces or other details visible in a photo. Follow your school's photo rules.
Your sign-in is kept in your device's secure storage. Information is sent over encrypted connections. Signing out ends access on that device; it does not remove school records.
Who can see information
Your school manages staff access, class assignments and family consent. Staff with class access can read the class records available to them. Families see class story text when they have agreed to class news, and photos when they have also agreed to photos. Messages go to the recipients chosen for the conversation. Marks and Hifdh notes may also be shared with families through the school.
Hope Tech and the providers that host Manara and deliver its service emails process information to run the service. We do not sell information or share it for advertising.
No tracking, advertising or analytics
The app does not track you across apps or websites. It has no advertising or third-party analytics and collects no diagnostics. The information listed above is used for App Functionality only.
How long records are kept
Schools own their records. Records are kept while the school uses Manara, and the school decides what is removed. Hope Tech deletes a school's data from Manara's live systems within 90 days after the school leaves Manara or asks for deletion.
Removing a staff login ends access but leaves school records with the school. Server logs are kept for 14 days and server backups for 14 days. An encrypted off-site copy of those backups is kept for disaster recovery with no end date, so deleted records can remain in it. Those copies are private, and are used only to restore Manara after a failure.
Account removal and record requests
To request removal of your staff login, email [email protected] or ask your school office. We answer account removal requests within 30 days. We check your identity through a reply from the staff email address on file or confirmation from the school office, and we tell the school about the request.
Account removal ends your staff login's access. School records stay with the school. Ask the school about correcting or removing its records. Signing out or deleting the app does not request account removal.

Children's information
Manara Staff is for school staff. It is not an app for children to sign up for. Schools manage the student information used in their classes and decide which staff and families can see it.
